Important Information About the Future of Gardens of Grace

April 29, 2013

Hello Everyone,

Gardens of Grace has been online now for 9 years (several years prior we were operating locally) and thanks to all my wonderful, amazing customers, it has grown bigger than I had ever dreamed it would. For the last year I have been doing a lot of soul searching and praying about what should be done about the business as it was slowly taking up more and more of my time. I knew I would either have to expand (hire help), or shrink.

My kids are growing so fast and now half of my 6 are teens. Our little farm is also growing and expanding and is requiring more of me and my time. The bottom line is, I can’t do it all and my family needs to come first. So as of May 31st, Gardens of Grace will be downsizing in a major way.

I will be closing the current store and switching to an Etsy shop (gardensofgrace.etsy.com), but with much less inventory. In fact, at the start I will probably have little more than the few totally exclusive items that I carry. Over time I may add more things, but I am planning to donate much of my remaining inventory so what I list on Etsy will probably be a few current items and a random mix of vintage pieces from my own collection, etc.

Many of you have been with me for years, and still others have only found me recently. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience I know this will cause you, but I believe this to be what is best for our family. So here is the nitty gritty:

The last day of the current Gardens of Grace shop will be May 31st. I will stop accepting backorders on May 24th. This means that after May 24th, if I do not have an item you have ordered in stock, I will send you a Paypal refund instead of backordering your parts. Also, starting this week, when I sell out of an item I will mark it ‘sold out’ in the shop to prevent too much over selling.

** Updated 5-2-13 ** I have had to go in and mark everything with the actual inventory I have on hand because of the flood of large orders being placed. There will be no more backorders. I will make the adjustments to the shop inventories as I re-stock my own.

Thank you & God bless,

Alice
